"After losing my elderly dog Tucker, a friend of mine who walks her dogs in the park where I walk my dogs, recommended Doxie Love Breeding when she learned that I was looking for a Dachshund as a companion for my Min Pin named Groot, and myself. Problem was that I live in Albuquerque, NM and Doxie Love Breeding is in Arizona. However, it just so happened that in October of 2021, I was making a trip to the Grand Canyon and would be only a few hours away from Doxie Love Breeding. We made an appointment to meet Sami Jo Kurtti-Smith, her family and of course all of her Doxies. On our return trip, we detoured to meet the family. Not only was it fun and amusing to meet everyone, Sami Jo and I struck up a friendship. We made arrangements that day, that when she had a new litter, I would be open to purchasing one of the males.
It was so worth the wait. In February of 2022, Luna gave birth to the most precious little boy puppy whom I named Atlas. Sami Jo sent pictures of Atlas’s progress and kept me advised of his vaccines and vet visits. She and her family used his name with him so that he identified with it, and they socialized Atlas with their family, friends, and other dogs. When I picked Atlas up in May of 2022, he was one very healthy and adjusted playful puppy. Atlas has been a joy. He has been voted the most popular and friendly dog in park. In fact, there is not a person (including the grounds keepers) in the park that do not know Atlas by name. People want to bottle his happiness. Several of my neighbors make it a point to be outside at the times when I take Atlas and Groot for walks, just to pet and hold him. He and Groot get along perfectly and I’ve not had one act of aggression take place between the two of them. I love Atlas, he has made my home a very happy, playful place to be. I know his happiness and his love of life, people, and other dogs, is all due to the care and attention he received from Doxie Love Breeding in his formative months."
